JACOBS classic 1960's 9'8 Long board surfboard, all original, good condition

  
You are looking at an early 1960's Jacobs long board surfboard. This board is all original and features the laminated wood "skeg" as it was then called. The board is in over all very good condition for its nearly 60 years of history. Serial #2066 is hand written on the balsa stringer. Hap Jacobs was one of the early pioneers and innovators of surfboard manufacturing and design. This classic board features the laminated wood skeg and laminated wood tail block with a 2 balsa wood stringer. Over the next few years skegs would be called "fins" and mostly made from fiberglass and boards would become lighter with more emphasis on designs that improved "nose riding". This board is a great example of the long board era when surfing was uncrowded and simple.
