1987 Town and Country (T&C) Custom. By Hawaiian Surfing Legend, BEN AIPA. Hand-written on bottom at stringer: BEN AIPA 87. For the true vintage surfing aficionado, Ben Aipa needs no introduction. In the 1960's Ben invented "power surfing" and in the 1970's he created. The innovative "Swallow Tail" and "Stinger" board designs ridden. By the amazing surfers, Larry Bertlemann, and Mark Richards among others. With this board, one can witness the continuation of Ben's innovations into the 1980's..

This board appears to leverage the design work that Ben and Brad Gerlach. Devised to improve edge control. Their collaboration on that design may very well have. Contributed to Gerlach's 1986 ranking as the #1 surfer in the world. A beautiful showpiece of the master's work that will brighten any collection!

This board is medium light, has a mahogany stringer, and bears a polished finish. Rail design goes to a sharp edge at the bottom from the fins back to the tail. Appears to have had the tip of its nose professionally repaired, and has a number of what appear to be. Small area of un-repaired damage to edge of tail.

We have owned this board for 27 years, and have displayed it indoors away from direct light. A truly legendary surfer and innovative shaper, in 2018 Ben Aipa was.

Inducted into the Huntington Beach, CA. (At your request we will drop this board off at the Costa Mesa "UPS Store").
